A Few Notes About Me

I first heard the call to what is known as the "spiritual life" when I was four years old, as I lay upon Missouri bluegrass and watched clouds surf past the crowns of oaks.  Since that time I have found holiness on sunny ski slopes dripping with powder, on wooded trails paved with golden Aspen leaves, and especially on the waves and islands of the sea.  That same mystical Presence speaks to all of us in the holiness of loving intimacy, at the communion rail, in the solitude of an empty cathedral, or in the laugh of a child.  My mission in life has been to open others to the mystical voice of the Spirit who dwells in their hearts.

SOME OF MY CREDENTIALS

Credentials can't describe the heart, but they give others confidence that the heart's gifts have been refined. Some of my external validations include a degree in philosophy from Trinity University, a Master of Divinity from Yale University, a Doctor of Ministry from Eden Theological Seminary, and a certificate in spiritual direction from the Spiritual Direction Institute of Houston.

SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION

I was an ordained minister for 32 years and a psychotherapist in private practice for 25 years. I taught for two years as an adjunct professor of Family Therapy at the University of Houston/Clear Lake City. For many years I have been well-received as a speaker, teacher, and retreat leader. Now God has led me into my present work as a fulltime writer, spiritual director, life coach, occasional preacher, and natural photographer. At Christ Church Cathedral (Houston, Episcopal), I serve as a Eucharistic Minister retreat leader, and volunteer in our homeless ministry.
